• you want to visit the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens and Hatshepsut Temple without a river crossing to get there.
• your trip is built around early balloon flights over the fields and tombs.
• you are content with quiet evenings and a limited selection of restaurants near your accommodation.

• you plan to spend most of your time at Karnak and the temples on the east side.
• you want the widest choice of hotels in one walkable area, which the East Bank holds.
